My professional background is that I completed a Masters in Human Rights Law, worked in a Law firm in London and then went onto pursue a career in teaching, which I found very rewarding.

However, it came to a point where I had a lot of anxiety/stress and was struggling to maintain a healthy work/life balance, thus needed a positive outlet. I love eating out at restaurants and taking photos, therefore I started up my halal food blog on Instagram: @the_foodiepro in October 2019.

Little did I know that this would blow up to become popular within a year and that I would make so many kind hearted foodie friends online.

This was especially an outlet for my mental health during Covid-19, where we have all been stuck in our homes due to the pandemic and been online a lot more.

It was during the first lockdown of March 2019 that everyone became a baker or found a new skill/hobby that they enjoyed doing. I started to experiment by trying out new recipes for the first time, which I posted on the gram and soon realised I had a creative flair for food styling and food photography. This was when the number of ‘likes’ on my posts and followers started to increase. Pretty much became a #lockdownchef as did many others!

I never thought that after one year I would be creating my website but here we are! ☺️ I hope you enjoy reading my blog and if you need to talk about anything then you can always contact me via email or just send me a DM! #FoodieGang 🤜🏻🤛🏼
